Overview and Gameplay

Street Fighter Alpha 3 features one-on-one battles with a roster of more than 30 fighters. Single Mode presents character-specific opponents and a final boss, while Training, Survival, Time Attack, Final Battle, and Dramatic Battle provide additional challenges.

Each fighter selects A-Ism, X-Ism, or V-Ism before combat. A-Ism supports several Super Combos, X-Ism emphasizes stronger attacks and one full-gauge Super Combo, and V-Ism activates Custom Combos. Unlockable fighters and modes become available through repeated completions.

Controls And Mechanics

Directional inputs control movement, jumping, crouching, blocking, and special-move commands. The four attack buttons provide light and heavy punches and kicks, while paired buttons produce medium attacks.

Special moves build the Super Combo Gauge. Super Combos consume stored gauge, and V-Ism uses it for Custom Combos. Blocking drains the Guard Power Gauge; an empty gauge causes a guard crush. A knockout wins the round, while a timeout awards it to the fighter with more vitality.

Linked systems support competitive Versus matches and cooperative Dramatic Battles against a CPU opponent. Each participant needs a Game Boy Advance and a copy of the game.

Version Notes

This handheld adaptation adds Eagle, Maki, and Yun to the roster. It compresses character animation, backgrounds, music, voices, and story presentation for the Game Boy Advance format.
