Overview and Gameplay
Mortal Kombat Advance presents one-on-one battles across four single-player ladders: Novice, Warrior, Master, and Grand Master. Each match uses best-of-three rounds, and victory requires depleting the opponent’s health before the timer expires. Completing higher ladders temporarily unlocks Human Smoke, Motaro, and Shao Kahn. Two-player link modes support standard 1-on-1 matches and 2-on-2 team battles.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, jumps, and crouches. B performs punches, A performs kicks, R blocks, and L runs when held with forward movement. Directional inputs change attacks into uppercuts, sweeps, jumping strikes, and combo sequences. Character-specific commands activate special moves and finishing attacks. Options adjust difficulty, blood, Fatalities, contrast, and player handicaps.
Version Notes
This Game Boy Advance adaptation of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 condenses the original attack layout into one punch button and one kick button. It includes 23 initially selectable fighters, while Sheeva and several finishing systems are omitted.
