Overview and Gameplay
Digimon Battle Spirit follows a group of Digimon confronting a powerful enemy that threatens the Digital World and the Real World. Battles take place in layered platform arenas with hazards, roaming minor enemies, and collectible items.
Attacks knock D-Spirit Balls from an opponent. Each fighter races to collect those balls before they disappear, and the higher total wins when time expires. The single-player battle mode leads through CPU opponents to Millenniummon, while repeated victories and high scores help unlock hidden fighters. Difficulty and match length can be adjusted in the options menu.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, dashes, guards, and modifies attacks. A jumps and can drop through platforms, while B performs normal attacks, special attacks, throws, and item actions according to direction and movement. Guarding consumes a shared gauge.
Calumon can appear during battle and temporarily Digivolve a fighter into a stronger form. Arena enemies drop projectiles and status items that can launch, burn, stun, reverse movement, or briefly immobilize an opponent. Two players can fight simultaneously using two Game Boy Advance systems and a Game Link Cable.
