Overview and Gameplay
Spat travels through the Ham-Hams’ world causing arguments and breaking friendships. Hamtaro and Bijou follow him across Sunny Peak, Wild Woods, Fun Land, Boo Manor, Sandy Bay, and Spat Tower, restoring relationships to fill the Love Meter.
Progress depends on learning 86 Ham-Chat words and choosing the correct expression for each situation. New words open conversations, environmental actions, and puzzle solutions, while unknown commands encourage return visits to earlier locations. Optional Clubhouse activities include dressing the characters, taking photographs, collecting songs, and arranging Ham-Jam dances.
Controls And Mechanics
Hamtaro explores connected areas, talks with other hamsters, inspects objects, digs, rolls into obstacles, and uses story items. Sunflower seeds serve as currency, acorns can be exchanged for seeds, and rocks can be polished into collectible gems.
The status screens track learned words, recovered loves, items, gems, and money. Progress saves automatically. Puzzle attempts and minigames can be repeated, and Link Cable support transfers saved Ham-Jam dance data between two copies of the game.
