Overview and Gameplay
Spyro: Season of Ice sends Spyro into the Fairy Realms after Grendor freezes 100 fairies while searching for a cure for his accidental second head. Four seasonal home worlds connect exploration stages, timed speedways, Sparx missions, and boss battles.
Spyro rescues fairies by completing local objectives, defeating enemies, catching thieves, activating objects, and reaching hidden areas. Fairy totals unlock new portals, while gems track completion and pay Moneybags to open Sparx stages. Collecting all 100 fairies and 7,000 gems unlocks the Dragonfly X bonus game.
Controls And Mechanics
Spyro walks with the directional pad, jumps with A, glides with a second press, and hovers with a third. B breathes fire, R launches a charge attack, and L lets Spyro look around. Sparx changes color as Spyro takes damage, butterflies restore health, and rare full-life butterflies award an extra life.
Speedways require Spyro to fly through rings, shoot targets, avoid obstacles, and extend the timer. Sparx stages use top-down movement, rapid fire, charge attacks, colored keys, temporary weapons, and boss fights.
