Overview and Gameplay
Mr. Dark steals the Great Protoon, scatters the Electoons, and disrupts Rayman’s world. Rayman crosses six themed worlds, reaches stage exits, defeats bosses, and breaks 102 cages to open the final Candy Chateau area.
Stages contain hidden routes, moving platforms, environmental hazards, and timed Magician challenges. Betilla grants permanent abilities during the adventure, including the telescopic fist, ledge hanging, grappling, helicopter hovering, and running.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves Rayman, looks upward, crouches, and crawls. A jumps and later activates helicopter hair in midair. B throws the telescopic fist, which can be charged for greater range, and attaches Rayman to flying rings after the grappling power is learned. R activates running and plants Magic Seeds in applicable stages.
Collecting 100 Tings grants an extra life, while ten Tings open a Magician bonus challenge. Golden Fists increase attack power, photographers act as checkpoints, and temporary powers include Super Helicopter flight, shrinking, and illumination in dark passages.
Version Notes
This handheld adaptation of the original Rayman includes English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian text. It uses brighter visuals, adjusted stage layouts, shorter cinematic sequences, and more forgiving checkpoints and resources for Game Boy Advance play.
