Overview and Gameplay
Meteor 3 reveals technology and warnings of an extraterrestrial invasion, prompting the Earth Federation to develop Personal Troopers. The campaign begins with either Ryusei Date or Kyosuke Nanbu, whose early missions, allies, and machines differ before their forces converge.
Grid-based scenarios use separate player and enemy phases. Objectives include destroying specified units, protecting allies, reaching locations, and surviving scripted events. Intermissions allow mech upgrades, weapon improvements, optional parts, pilot reassignment, skill purchases, and deployment changes. Optional Battle Mastery conditions increase campaign difficulty and help unlock secret content.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves the map cursor and navigates menus. A selects units, confirms destinations, and opens command windows. B cancels actions, displays unit or terrain information, and enables rapid cursor movement when held. L and R cycle through units and provide contextual battle shortcuts, Start opens Quick Save, and Select displays the full battlefield map.
Terrain affects movement, defense, and weapon performance. Attacked units may counter, defend, or evade, while nearby qualified allies can provide support attacks or intercept damage. Spirit Commands consume SP for temporary effects, and Will controls access to stronger weapons, transformations, and abilities.
