Overview and Gameplay

Deploy a hidden fleet across a 12-by-8 grid, then trade attacks with the computer until one side loses every ship. This licensed adaptation of the Milton Bradley board game expands the familiar formula into a 40-battle campaign spanning eight naval ranks.

New ships, missiles, and reconnaissance systems appear as the player advances from Lieutenant to Fleet Admiral. Special weapons can strike several spaces or reveal enemy positions, but each is carried by a particular ship and is lost if that vessel sinks before using it. Four-digit passwords resume progress between battles.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Move ships during deployment and guide the targeting sight during combat.
  • Place ships, confirm setup, and fire the selected weapon.
  • Rotate ships between horizontal and vertical positions.
  • Cycle through limited special weapons with different attack patterns.
  • Battle statistics track shots, hits, and accuracy rather than a traditional score.
  • Play is single-player only against the computer.

Version Notes

The USA edition is the English-language NTSC release. The European PAL version includes four selectable languages and replaces the dedicated ending song with the title music, while retaining the same principal campaign and rules.
