Overview and Gameplay
In 2061, Hayao Musou boards the silent exploration ship Comet after it stops communicating during a mission to sample Halley’s Comet. Jesus: Kyoufu no Bio Monster is a Japanese science-fiction horror adventure built around illustrated scenes, text, and context-sensitive commands. Players search rooms, question crew members, collect keycards and equipment, review recordings, and uncover the nature of a regenerating alien organism.
Progress is largely linear and divided between the JESUS station, the Comet investigation, and the final crisis aboard Corona. Advancement often requires revisiting locations, examining objects repeatedly, and triggering events in a specific order. There is no score or conventional lives system; passwords continue progress through most of the story.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: choose commands and move through corridors.
- A: confirm selections.
- B: cancel or hold to advance text quickly.
- Select: display the current password when the command menu is available.
- Start: begin the selected title-screen option.
Combat encounters use menu choices rather than real-time action, and the game supports one player only.
Version Notes
This Famicom edition adds the subtitle Kyoufu no Bio Monster, redesigns FOJY as a mascot robot, and streamlines the 1987 computer original by removing adult scenes, several minigames, and fatal game-over outcomes. It was released only in Japanese.
