Overview and Gameplay
A young fisherman sets out to catch the legendary River Master after learning that its flesh may cure his sick sister. Kawa no Nushi Tsuri combines top-down exploration, role-playing progression, wildlife battles, and detailed fishing across five river regions, from a mountain stream to the river mouth.
Fish can be sold for money, while food, inns, tackle, larger creels, and stronger rods support further travel. Animal battles award experience that raises physical strength, a shared resource for surviving attacks and landing powerful fish. Progress also depends on finding items, completing local tasks, and obtaining the special equipment needed for the final catch.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move the fisherman and navigate menus.
- A opens or confirms commands and times attacks against animals.
- B cancels commands and handles fishing actions, including casting, hooking, and reeling.

- The game is strictly single-player and uses a numerical password system for continued progress.
