Overview and Gameplay

Pokémon Yellow is an unlicensed side-scrolling platformer built from the NES version of Felix the Cat. A Pikachu-like hero crosses nine areas divided into timed rounds, moving through land, surface-water, underwater, and flying stages. Each area introduces hazards, enemies, hidden bonus rooms, and boss encounters.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves the character, crouches, and enters hidden bonus bags. A jumps, swims, or gains altitude, while B attacks with the current weapon or powered form.

Collectible apples fill an upgrade counter. Every ten produce a heart that strengthens the current form, while milk restores its draining energy meter. Damage lowers an upgraded form by one level; damage in the basic form, falling off-screen, or running out of time costs a life. Extra lives are awarded at score milestones.

Version Notes

This unlicensed NES release is a graphical hack of Felix the Cat. It replaces the main character, collectibles, and several presentation elements with Pokémon-inspired artwork while retaining the original stage layouts, vehicles, bosses, and gameplay systems. The title screen uses the alternate name Pokémon 2000.
