Overview and Gameplay
A lone rescue rider races across hostile alien terrain on a futuristic bike, collecting stranded Petras while fending off enemy forces and environmental hazards. The action unfolds as a side-scrolling run where survival depends on managing speed, avoiding collisions, and engaging enemies while moving through shifting obstacle zones. Progression moves through distinct stage types, culminating in intense encounters with heavily armed threats such as the Dinosaur Tank.
The core loop blends rescue objectives with continuous forward motion, where saving characters adds points but also increases risk due to energy consumption. Stages grow more aggressive as enemy density and environmental hazards escalate.
Controls And Mechanics
- Ride and adjust movement across lanes while the screen auto-scrolls
- Fire a laser weapon to destroy enemies and obstacles
- Rescue Petras scattered throughout stages for score gains
- Manage an energy system that drains through actions and must be replenished
- Navigate multi-phase zones including obstacle-heavy routes and boss encounters
- Two player mode uses alternating turns rather than simultaneous play
Version Notes
The North American release was published under FCI, while the game originates from the Japanese arcade and Famicom lineage developed by Nihon Bussan (Nichibutsu). The NES version adapts the original arcade structure into a home cartridge format while maintaining its stage-based rescue and combat design.
