Overview and Gameplay
Shin Samurai Spirits 2: Haoumaru Jigoku Hen centers on one-on-one weapon battles. Its nine unique fighters include Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Ukyo, Charlotte, Hanzo, Jubei, Cham Cham, Nicotine, and Mizuki. Single-player mode sends the selected fighter against computer-controlled opponents, while the title screen offers three difficulty levels. A separate versus mode supports direct two-player matches.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves the fighter and enters special-move commands. A and B perform attacks, and forward or backward dashes provide faster movement across the arena. Every character uses the same four special-move input patterns. In versus mode, both players fight simultaneously with separate controllers.
Version Notes
This unlicensed Famicom/NES adaptation was produced by Hummer Team. It presents nine unique fighters across a selection screen containing repeated character slots. The conversion uses shared special-move commands for the entire roster and adapts the source game’s combat to the NES controller.
