Overview and Gameplay
Power Rangers 2 follows five color-coded heroes through separate side-scrolling stages. Each stage assigns a fixed Ranger, begins with the Ranger Gun, and leads to a boss encounter. Barza’s room provides that Ranger’s Legendary Weapon. The campaign offers Easy and Normal difficulty settings, plus a three-symbol password system for resuming progress. Three minigames also appear from the title menu and between stages.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, crouches, and enters doors. A jumps, while B fires the current weapon; crouching and jumping attacks use B with the matching movement. The HUD tracks score, lives, POWER, weapons, and coins. Ten coins summon a Guardian Beast, restoring POWER or granting an extra life when POWER is full. Barrier Block and Doki Doki Bomb support simultaneous two-player competition.
Version Notes
This unlicensed 1996 edition changes the title screen of Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger to Power Rangers 2. The Japanese story text, Rangers, stages, weapons, and minigames remain from the underlying game.
