Overview and Gameplay

Chip and Dale investigate a missing kitten before uncovering another scheme by Fat Cat. Capcom’s NES platformer turns ordinary household objects into tools, weapons, and cover as the Rescue Rangers cross oversized rooms, streets, pipes, and mechanical facilities.

After the opening stage, a city map offers branching routes through lettered zones, with some stages becoming optional. Each character has three hearts, while acorns restore health and collected flowers or stars can produce extra lives.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Move and jump: Run, duck, steer in midair, and drop through supported platforms.
  • Use objects: Pick up boxes, throw them forward or upward, stack steel crates, or hide beneath a box for protection.
  • Special items: Black balls explode after being lifted, so they must be thrown quickly.
  • Multiplayer: Two players control Chip and Dale simultaneously as a cooperative team. Partners can also bump or hit one another with carried objects.

Version Notes

This is the English-language North American NES edition. The Japanese release uses the title Chip to Dale no Daisakusen; the core gameplay and cooperative structure remain the same.
