Overview and Gameplay
Ariel returns to the sea after learning that Ursula has enchanted its creatures and threatens the ocean. Capcom’s NES game is a side-scrolling underwater action platformer built around free swimming rather than conventional running and jumping.
Across five named levels and a final confrontation, Ariel searches sand, opens chests, defeats guardians, and reaches Ursula’s castle. Her bubbles trap smaller enemies, which can then be carried and thrown into other foes or bosses. Shells, rocks, and barrels provide heavier attacks and reveal items.
