Overview and Gameplay
Alisia sets out to destroy Baldour’s dormant cocoon before the evil being can awaken. This 1992 action platformer mixes fantasy monsters with machines, airships, and spacecraft. Alisia crosses seven journey stages and a final confrontation, searching for upgrades, clearing hazards, and defeating bosses.
Her rechargeable lightning automatically connects with nearby targets, while one of four computer-controlled creatures fights beside her. Each companion has separate health, strength, and levels, so switching and preserving them matters throughout the run.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Move, turn, and crouch.
- B: Fire lightning. Holding it drains Thunder Power; stopping allows the gauge to recharge. A full gauge produces a stronger screen-clearing blast.
- C: Jump, with greater height when held.
- A: Pause the action and select Dragon Frye, Ball O’ Fire, Thunder Raven, or Boomerang Lizard.
- Hidden items improve Alisia’s health and Thunder level, heal or strengthen companions, grant temporary effects, and provide limited continues.
Version Notes
This is the English-language U.S. Genesis release. The title is unchanged across regions, but Western packaging replaced the Japanese anime-style artwork with a sword-and-sorcery illustration.
