Overview and Gameplay
A young survivor raised far from Earth becomes caught in an interplanetary crisis when hostile forces threaten the galaxy. Star Odyssey is a science-fiction RPG set across eight planets, combining top-down exploration, towns and dungeons with random, turn-based battles.
The party can include up to three characters. Progress comes through story events, experience levels, equipment and Force abilities. Combat also uses front and rear positions, so attacks may deal reduced damage across opposing rows. Characters can protect weaker allies or use an automatic attack option.
Controls And Mechanics
- Move through environments and choose commands with the directional pad.
- Interact with people or objects and confirm selections with A.
- Open the command menu with C and cancel choices with B.
- The game is designed for one player and saves progress with battery-backed memory.
Version Notes
This 2011 worldwide release is an authorized but Sega-unlicensed English edition of the 1991 Japanese Mega Drive RPG Blue Almanac. Super Fighter Team revised the translation, fixed bugs, restored missing scenes and effects, and adjusted parts of the later game.
