Overview and Gameplay
Mr. Freeze frees the Joker, Two-Face, and the Mad Hatter to distract Gotham’s heroes while he prepares a city-freezing weapon. Batman or Robin fights through four villain-themed episodes filled with enemy waves, platforming hazards, bosses, and occasional flying sequences.
This Genesis-exclusive design combines run-and-gun shooting with close-range combat. Its dense action, elaborate visual effects, electronic soundtrack, and severe difficulty gave it a lasting cult reputation among Sega players.
Controls And Mechanics
- Movement: The directions move and aim. The heroes can crouch, jump, perform aerial kicks, and grab overhead structures.

- Weapons: Batarangs, shuriken, and bolos become stronger through matching pickups. A replenishing charge meter produces more powerful attacks.
