Overview and Gameplay
Capcom’s Soccer Shootout turns the Japanese J.League Excite Stage ’94 into a US soccer game with international teams and several match formats. It uses a fast top-down view with passing, shooting, tackles, set pieces, penalty kicks, and goalkeeper play.
Modes include Exhibition, season play, All-Stars, Penalty Kicks, Indoor Soccer, and Training. Indoor Soccer changes the pace with a smaller field, walls, eight players per side, and no out-of-bounds play.
Controls And Mechanics
- The directional pad moves players, aims passes, and changes kick direction.
- Y is used for short passes, while B handles long passes, shots, and some aerial plays.
- A is used for clears, kicks, blocks, headers, and set-piece actions.
- X adds long attacking kicks, far shots, or penalty fake actions in the right situations.
- Two-player matches are supported, including competitive play and same-team soccer setups.
Version Notes
