Overview and Gameplay
Santa wakes to a Christmas crisis: elves are missing, toys have turned dangerous, and presents still need to reach the right houses. Daze Before Christmas is a side-scrolling SNES platformer built around 24 advent-calendar-style stages.
Santa explores workshops, caves, factories, and holiday-themed areas, turning enemies into presents with magic dust and reaching the spinning star at each stage exit. Boss fights and sleigh delivery stages break up the platforming, while passwords help continue progress after major sections.
Controls And Mechanics
- Santa can run, jump, jump-kick, and throw magic dust at cursed toys and enemies.
- Gold bells act as checkpoints, and Santa hats represent health.
- Some presents contain elves, health, extra lives, bombs, or enemies.
- Cocoa transforms Santa into Anti-Claus, an invincible form that attacks with his sack but can destroy presents.
- Two-player mode is alternating turns, not simultaneous co-op.
