Overview and Gameplay
Polygon motocross racing comes to the SNES through the Super FX chip in Dirt Trax FX. Players choose a rider and bike, then race across dirt tracks filled with ramps, pits, mud, water, ice, walls, and sharp turns.
Circuit mode is the main progression route, starting with easier motocross events and opening harder circuits after successful finishes. Training allows practice on unlocked courses, while Rad Tag turns the bike handling into a competitive tag mode.
Controls And Mechanics
- Bike class changes the difficulty and speed, from 50cc through harder classes.
- Racing depends on throttle control, braking, leaning through corners, and adjusting bike angle over jumps.
- Passwords continue progress after completing circuits.
- Two-player play includes competitive racing and Rad Tag, while larger multiplayer uses turn-based hot-seat competition.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL release of Dirt Trax FX. No separate European title change was used, and the game was not released in Japan.
