Overview and Gameplay
Ten Olympic events form a late-era SNES sports package built around Atlanta 1996 competition. Players choose from 32 nations, enter practice or competition, and chase medals and records across sprinting, hurdles, jumps, throws, archery, and skeet shooting.
Events include 100m Sprint, 110m Hurdles, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Javelin, High Jump, Discus, Skeet, and Archery. Most events combine rapid button presses for speed or power with timed directional input for takeoff, release, aiming, or finishing.
Controls And Mechanics
- Track and field events rely on building speed or power, then timing jumps, throws, or releases.
- Shooting events use aiming and timed shots rather than running rhythm.
- Competition mode supports multiple human players taking turns, with limited head-to-head racing in the sprint and hurdle events.
- Difficulty, sound, music, and event selection can be adjusted from the game menus.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL SNES version. It is the 16-bit Tiertex Olympic title, separate from the 3D Atlanta 1996 game released on other platforms.
