Overview and Gameplay
In 2998 A.D., Dr. Bruford’s mutation experiments turn Earth into a battlefield of monsters, and the Run Sabers Allen and Sheena are sent to stop him. Run Saber is a fast side-scrolling sci-fi action platformer built around saber attacks, climbing, sliding, bosses, and special weapons.
The game runs through five stages with item capsules, score, lives, HP recovery, sword power-ups, and extra special-attack stock. Allen uses Thunder-themed attacks, while Sheena uses Ice-themed attacks.
Controls And Mechanics
- The directions move, crouch, and climb, y attacks with the saber, b jumps, and x uses a special attack.
- l and r trigger left or right slides, start pauses, and select changes character color while paused.
- Two players can fight together simultaneously, making this a cooperative action game rather than an alternating mode.
Version Notes
This is the European SNES release of Run Saber. The title is the same as the North American release, and there was no Japanese retail release.
