Overview and Gameplay
Prince Jerry is cursed into a small blue blob and crosses Kyliria to rescue Princess Wendy and confront the Bad Wizard. Smart Ball is a side-view platformer where Jerry’s soft body is central to movement, attacks, and stage navigation.
Controls And Mechanics
- Jerry can move, squeeze upward, flatten downward, enter pipes, jump, swim, and cling to walls or ceilings with extra speed.
- Red balls work as projectiles, while seeds, flowers, bombs, life refills, jump boosts, and 1-ups appear throughout the stages.
- Collecting J-E-R-R-Y flags can award extra lives, and the filmstrip-style stage select lets cleared areas be revisited.
Version Notes
This is the USA SNES release of Smart Ball, known in Japan as Jerry Boy. The North American version focuses more directly on action stages after removing the Japanese town and NPC story segments.
