Overview and Gameplay
Simon Belmont enters Dracula’s domain with the Vampire Killer whip in a lavish SNES retelling of the original Castlevania hunt. Super Castlevania IV expands the journey with approach stages before the castle, timed action-platforming, candles, hearts, sub-weapons, food recovery, boss fights, score, lives, passwords, and dramatic SNES effects such as rotating rooms and layered scrolling.
Controls And Mechanics
- Move through gothic stages, jump across hazards, and aim Simon’s whip in multiple directions.
- The whip can strike enemies, break candles, be held out defensively, and swing Simon from special rings.
- Hearts fuel sub-weapons, while bosses and stage traps test careful positioning and timing.
