Overview and Gameplay
Franky’s holiday plans go wrong when his girlfriend Bitsy is mailed in pieces and scattered around the world. The Adventures of Dr. Franken is a SNES platformer about recovering those parcels across 20 locations, including bonus stages, before returning to Transylvania.
Each main stage asks Franky to explore side-scrolling areas, avoid hazards, fight enemies, find four parcel sections, and reach the exit. Some parcel pieces appear only when he gets close, while switches, cranes, rafts, moving platforms, and springboards shape the route.
Controls And Mechanics
- B jumps, while directions move, crouch, and help Franky drop from some platforms.
- Y and A perform left and right kicks, while X gives Franky an overhead or facing kick.
- L uses smart bombs, and R fires a limited sonic punch that can stun enemies.
- Energy, lives, time, score, smart bombs, and a punch meter all matter; bonus icons can add points, energy, invincibility, super jumps, or extra lives.
- Two-player play is alternating, not simultaneous, versus, or co-op.
