Overview and Gameplay
Skullmaster has scattered pieces of a doom weapon across different places and eras, sending Max through portals on a side-scrolling search mission. The game follows the Mighty Max cartoon and toy license, with levels built around running, jumping, climbing, shooting enemies, collecting items, and finding the objects needed to move forward.
Progress is handled through themed areas, password continuation, and scavenger-hunt goals rather than simple left-to-right stage exits.
Controls And Mechanics
- Three playable characters can be selected before starting.
- Levels use platform movement, climbing, crouching or crawling, enemy shooting, item collection, and portal-based progression.
- The European SNES version supports one-player play and two-player split-screen play.
- Scoring is secondary to survival, finding objects, and clearing areas with passwords.
Version Notes
This is the European PAL Super Nintendo release, published before the later North American SNES release.
