Overview and Gameplay
Castlevania Double Pack opens with a menu for Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Each campaign has separate save data, maps, equipment, unlockable modes, and completion records.
Harmony of Dissonance follows Juste Belmont through two linked versions of a castle while he searches for Lydie. Relics, keys, movement abilities, and changes between the castles open new routes. Aria of Sorrow sends Soma Cruz through Dracula’s castle in 2035, where defeated enemies can grant souls used for attacks, defenses, passive bonuses, and movement skills.
Controls And Mechanics
Both games use the directional pad for movement and aiming, A for jumping, B for the main weapon, Start for status screens, and Select for the map. Harmony assigns left and right dashes to L and R, while Aria uses L for a backdash and R for Guardian Souls.
Enemies grant experience, and equipment changes attack and defense. Harmony uses hearts for sub-weapons and MP for Spell Fusion. Aria uses MP for soul abilities. Losing all HP causes defeat; Save Rooms record progress, and each campaign includes post-clear challenge modes.
Version Notes
This European compilation contains English, French, and German text. Its Harmony of Dissonance build revises several enemy drops, enemy values, names, and hint entries from the standalone release.
