Overview and Gameplay
Juste Belmont enters a mysterious castle after his friend Lydie Erlanger is kidnapped and Maxim Kischine returns wounded. Exploration spans two overlapping versions of the castle, each with different enemies, items, barriers, and events. Bosses, keys, relics, and movement abilities open new routes, while save rooms record progress and warp rooms connect distant areas.
Enemies provide experience, equipment, money, and recovery items. Optional goals include completing the monster encyclopedia, collecting furniture for Juste’s room, finding Dracula’s remains, and unlocking different endings. Finishing the adventure opens Maxim Mode, while Boss Rush presents timed sequences of major battles.
Controls And Mechanics
Juste attacks with the Vampire Killer whip, dashes in either direction, and uses sub-weapons powered by Hearts. Daggers, axes, crosses, holy water, holy books, and sacred fists each produce different attacks.
The Spell Fusion system pairs one of five spell books with the equipped sub-weapon to create a magical attack that consumes MP. Equipment and level gains improve combat statistics. Poison drains health, curse disables dashing, and stone temporarily prevents movement.
