Overview and Gameplay
Prince Lolo enters the Great Devil’s castle to rescue Princess Lala, clearing 50 fixed-screen puzzle rooms across ten floors. In each room, he must collect every Heart Framer, open the treasure chest, and claim its jewel.
This Western NES entry draws on puzzle rooms from earlier Japanese Eggerland games but has its own stage sequence. Its grid-based challenges mix careful planning with real-time hazards, enemy movement, and occasional precision.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Move Lolo, push Emerald Framers, and navigate menus or passwords.
- A: Fire a Magic Shot or activate an available room power.
- Select: Give up an unsolvable room and restart it at the cost of one life.
- Start: Begin the game and confirm title-screen choices.
Magic Shots turn vulnerable enemies into movable eggs. Eggs can block attacks, cross rivers, or be removed with a second shot. Other room powers create bridges, rotate one-way arrows, or break selected rocks. Passwords preserve progress after a game over.
Version Notes
The US cartridge is a Western-specific NES release rather than a direct localization of the later Japanese Famicom game with the same English title.
