Overview and Gameplay
Lolo and Lala return to save a kingdom whose inhabitants have been turned to stone. This substantial NES puzzle adventure sends one chosen hero across a world map containing caves, underwater pyramids, training areas, bosses, and 100 principal puzzle rooms.
Each single-screen challenge requires collecting every Heart Framer, surviving the activated enemies, and opening the Jewel Box. Success depends on careful positioning, route planning, enemy manipulation, and occasional quick movement.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directional Pad: Move Lolo or Lala and navigate password entry.
- A: Fire Magic Shots, activate special powers, advance text, or swap heroes on the map.
- B: Move back during password entry.
- Select: Restart the current puzzle.
- Start: Return to the map and display the current password.
Magic Shots turn certain enemies into movable eggs that can block attacks or float across water. Emerald Framers provide cover, while temporary powers can rotate arrows, break rocks, or create bridges.
Version Notes
The Western game corresponds to Japan’s Adventures of Lolo II, but it replaces most Japanese puzzle rooms and rearranges the difficulty. Passwords and room solutions are therefore not interchangeable.
