Overview and Gameplay
DOH returns aboard the spacecraft Xorg, sending Vaus II into a branching series of brick-breaking battles. This Japanese Famicom adaptation of Arkanoid: Revenge of DOH combines paddle action with enemies, boss encounters, alternate routes, and a built-in stage editor.
Each round requires the player to keep the energy ball in play while clearing destructible blocks. Left and right exits lead to different layouts, with a completed route comprising 32 brick-clearing rounds and three boss encounters under the guide’s counting system.
Controls And Mechanics
- Move Vaus II left or right, with faster or slower movement available through button combinations.
- Launch a held ball and fire when the Laser capsule is active.
- Power-ups can enlarge the paddle, split the ball, slow its speed, open exits, award lives, or destroy normally resistant blocks.
- The two-player campaign uses alternating turns, while Vs mode provides simultaneous competitive play against another player or the computer.
Version Notes
Released only for the Japanese Famicom, this version supports a specialized paddle controller, includes branching stages, and adds an Edit mode for building custom layouts.
