Overview and Gameplay

Six California-themed events test timing, stunt control, and score chasing across half-pipe skateboarding, foot bag, surfing, rollerskating, BMX, and flying disk. Players can enter the full competition, choose selected events, or practise one event at a time.

First, second, and third place earn five, three, and one trophy points. The competitor with the highest total wins the championship. Each event has its own rules, hazards, time limits, and scoring methods, so learning the different control rhythms is central to success.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Half Pipe: Build speed on the ramp and perform turns or hand plants.
  • Foot Bag: Chain kicks, head butts, jumps, and spins while keeping the bag airborne.
  • Surfing: Steer along the wave, sharpen turns, and avoid wipeouts.
  • Rollerskating and BMX: Dodge obstacles, jump, and perform scoring tricks.
  • Flying Disk: Set throw speed and angle, then position the catcher.

Up to eight competitors can participate by taking alternating turns. There is no simultaneous play or cooperative mode.

Version Notes

The North American edition uses different title and copyright-screen music from the European NES release.
