Overview and Gameplay
Pilot the armed HKJ-205A helicopter into enemy territory to rescue prisoners held by the Bungeling Empire. This Japanese Famicom conversion follows the expanded arcade-style design, sending players through desert, ocean, cave, and futuristic city scenes.
Each scene contains four prisons with eight captives apiece. The helicopter can carry only eight passengers, so successful missions require repeated trips between enemy territory and the home heliport. Rescue 20 prisoners to advance. Fuel, hostile fire, terrain, and civilian casualties make every landing dangerous.
Controls And Mechanics
- Use the directional pad to climb, descend, and move horizontally.
- Tap A to face the screen, tap again to return, or hold A to reverse horizontal direction.
- Press B while facing sideways to fire the machine gun, or while facing forward to drop bombs.
- Three helicopters are provided initially, with extras awarded every 20,000 points.
- The two-player mode is alternating rather than simultaneous.
Version Notes
This Japan-only Famicom release is distinct from the Master System version. It uses four looping scenes, an eight-passenger limit, fuel management, and increasingly fast enemy fire on later circuits.
