Overview and Gameplay

TwinBee and WinBee fly over Donburi Island to defeat King Spice’s forces and recover the divided treasure orb. Each vertical-scrolling stage contains airborne enemies, ground installations, cloud-hidden bells, and a boss. Five stages form the main sequence before play returns to the first stage with the score preserved.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves the ship, A drops bombs on ground targets, and B fires at airborne enemies. Shooting bells keeps them aloft and changes their color. Yellow bells award points, blue increases speed, white adds twin shots, and red creates a barrier. Ground targets can reveal fruit, candy, and other bonuses.

Enemy fire can remove both arms and disable bombing until an ambulance repairs the ship. Extra ships are awarded at 50,000 points and at later score intervals. Two players control TwinBee and WinBee simultaneously. Touching side by side activates a stronger fire attack, while vertical contact produces a five-direction star attack.

Version Notes

In the Family Computer adaptation, an arm-damaging hit removes both arms together, temporarily disabling ground bombs until repairs arrive.
