Overview and Gameplay
Charlie performs five dangerous circus acts in this compact, score-driven adaptation of Konami’s arcade game. He rides a lion through flaming hoops, crosses a tightrope past monkeys, balances on rolling balls, leaps from horseback, and swings between trapezes.
Each event has a distance goal and time limit. Clearing all five restarts the sequence with tougher obstacle patterns, making survival, precise timing, and high scores the main objectives.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Move Charlie or adjust speed, balance, and aerial positioning depending on the event.
- A or B: Jump, or release from a trapeze.
- Start: Pause or resume play.
- Points come from clearing hazards, collecting money bags, chaining difficult jumps, and finishing with time remaining.
- Two-player mode uses alternating turns rather than simultaneous play.
Version Notes
This Japanese Famicom port reformats the vertical arcade game for a horizontal television display. It includes five events, omitting the arcade trampoline stage, while preserving the core obstacle patterns and score-chasing structure.
