Overview and Gameplay
A family enters a storybook to rescue twins Piki and Poki from Mamu, ruler of the dream world Muu. Choose Imajin, Mama, Papa, or Lina, each with different jumping and carrying strengths, then cross seven chapters and 20 pages. Progress centers on pulling objects from the ground, throwing enemies and vegetables, opening doors, and defeating bosses. A complete ending requires all four characters to defeat Mamu.
Controls And Mechanics
- Use the directional pad to walk, climb, crouch, enter doors, and aim throws.
- A jumps. Crouch until the character flashes, then press A for a charged high jump. Lina can float by holding A.
- B pulls up objects, lifts enemies, and throws or places carried items.
- Bombs break selected walls, lamps open temporary doors to Subspace, and five cherries summon an invincibility star.
- Coins provide attempts at the end of page slot machine for extra lives. The game is single player.
Version Notes
This NES file represents an unlicensed cartridge conversion of the Japanese Famicom Disk System game, not an official Western NES release. It keeps the original cast, story, and lack of a run button. The later Super Mario Bros. 2 reworked the same design with Mario characters.
