Overview and Gameplay

Count Dracula leaves his coffin at midnight to find Mina before sunrise in Drac’s Night Out, a cancelled NES prototype built around an unusual Reebok Pump power-up. Each of five rounds begins in a side-view castle, where Drac descends through increasingly long floors and uses traps to stun villagers before drinking their blood. The action then shifts to a top-down village, where keys, lamps, clovers, maps, clues, and underground passages help reveal Mina’s changing location.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Use the directional pad to move, climb stairs, and navigate menus.
  • Press B to jump. A handles hypnosis, feeding, switches, levers, conversations, and other interactions.
  • Select opens the status screen, while Start pauses and confirms menu choices.
  • Hypnosis spends blood, which also serves as health. Draining five victims transforms Drac into an invincible bat in the castle or a faster wolf in the village.
  • The Reebok Pump temporarily improves speed and jumping ability. Bonus rooms can award points or alter the blood meter.

Version Notes

This is the English North American prototype of an unreleased game. It is broadly playable through all five rounds, although its presentation and some behavior remain unfinished. Modern reproduction cartridges and reconstructed boxes are not original retail releases.
