Overview and Gameplay

Command an M1 tank behind enemy lines as NATO attempts to rescue a captured commanding officer. Garry Kitchen’s Battletank uses a first-person cockpit view supported by radar, fuel, speed, damage, range, ammunition, and mission readouts.

The campaign contains ten increasingly dangerous missions. Early objectives emphasize destroying hostile tanks and helicopters, while later operations add mines, fuel tanks, power plants, and fortified targets. The satellite map helps locate enemies, headquarters, objectives, and strongholds, while NATO headquarters can repair, refuel, and rearm the tank once.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Driving and aiming: The directional pad steers, changes speed with B held, reverses from a stop, and adjusts weapon elevation.
  • Weapons: A fires, Select cycles weapons, and Start opens the satellite map.
  • Combat systems: The 150 mm cannon requires range-based elevation, the wire-guided shell tracks moving targets, smoke interrupts enemy fire, and the machine gun can overheat.
  • Scoring: Mines and weapon hits award points, while destroying an enemy is worth 1,000 points.
