Overview and Gameplay
Dr. Grump has kidnapped Miss Piggy and hidden her inside a dangerous carnival. Kermit, Fozzie, Animal, and Gonzo must clear four attractions, collect their keys, and unlock Grumpasaurus Cave for the final rescue.
Each attraction uses a different style. Kermit steers through a hazardous river, Animal drives a bumper car course, Gonzo pilots an inertia-based spaceship, and Fozzie searches 30 maze screens for items in the correct order. Completed attractions can be replayed for score and extra lives before the difficult cave stage.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move, steer, rotate, or adjust speed according to the attraction.
- A handles actions such as accelerating, thrusting, or attacking.
- B fires, throws held objects, or jumps where applicable.
- Start pauses, while Select leaves the current attraction.
- Power is shown in five segments, and the game begins with ten Rides, its term for lives.
Version Notes
The NES edition is a substantially redesigned adaptation of the 1989 computer game. It removes the alternating two-player mode and time limits, assigns a specific Muppet to each attraction, and adds the side-scrolling cave finale.
