Overview and Gameplay
Zouringen kidnaps Princess Kurumi to lure Yanchamaru into a final confrontation. This 1993 Famicom action-platformer expands the series with larger stages, branching routes, locked doors, switches, and vertical exploration.
Yanchamaru searches seven stages for keys, opens the route to each boss, collects coins for score and bonus games, and uses a staff for both combat and movement. Later areas demand precise bouncing attacks, wall launches, swimming, slippery ice traversal, and platforming across spike-filled fortresses.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move Yanchamaru and let him crouch.
- A jumps, while B attacks with the staff, swims, or rows where required.
- Holding and releasing B performs a charged spinning attack. Staff techniques include upward and downward thrusts, floor bounces, and launches away from walls.
- Hearts restore health, bombs clear ordinary enemies, scrolls grant temporary invincibility, and Yanchamaru icons award extra lives.
- The game is strictly single-player and uses limited continues.
