Overview and Gameplay

Ships bombard coastal fortresses while players rebuild walls to trap land and protect castles in shifting battle zones. Rampart combines artillery combat with spatial wall placement, where each round alternates between firing cannons at enemy ships and repairing damaged defenses using falling wall pieces.

The goal is to enclose castles within continuous fortifications before the battle phase ends. Enclosed territory becomes controlled ground for the next wave, and losing all viable castle enclosures results in defeat. Enemy fleets vary in attack patterns and pressure, forcing constant adjustment between offense and rebuilding.

Controls And Mechanics

  • Move a cursor across the battlefield using directional input
  • Place and fire cannons during combat phases
  • Rotate and position wall pieces during repair phases
  • Cycle through options and confirm selections using menu inputs
  • Two-player matches allow simultaneous competitive fortress building and bombardment

Matches alternate between firing and rebuilding phases, creating a rhythm of destruction and rapid reconstruction.
