Overview and Gameplay
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior presents one-on-one battles with four selectable fighters: Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, and Zangief. Single-player mode follows a fixed sequence of computer-controlled opponents before the final fight against Viga.
Each character uses distinct directional special moves, including Ryu’s Hadouken and Shoryuken, Chun-Li’s Lightning Kicks, Guile’s Sonic Boom, and Zangief’s Lariat. Losing the campaign allows one continue, and completed runs lead to character-specific ending scenes and credits.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves, jumps, crouches, blocks by retreating, and enters special-move commands. A and B perform the two attack inputs, while some techniques require both buttons together. Start begins or pauses play.
Rounds end when one fighter’s health is depleted. High scores can be recorded after a loss. Two players can select fighters and compete simultaneously in direct versus matches.
Version Notes
This unlicensed NES adaptation rebuilds Street Fighter II with four fighters, one CPU-only boss, two attack buttons, and simplified backgrounds, sprites, animation, and music.
