Overview and Gameplay
Gomez returns to a mansion filled with traps after Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Granny, and Lurch disappear while confronting Tully Alford. This NES-specific 8-bit adaptation turns the estate into a connected platform adventure rather than a sequence of straightforward stages.
Players explore rooms, crypts, woods, rooftops, waterways, and hidden passages while collecting keys, rescuing family members, and revisiting blocked areas. Cash, diamonds, and gold bars count toward the required total of $1,000,000. Enemies are usually defeated by jumping on them, while spikes, ghosts, moving platforms, and environmental traps demand careful timing.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions: Move, crouch, and navigate areas where vertical movement is supported.
- A: Jump or swim.
- B: Enter and leave rooms or paddle the gondola.
- Start: Pause and view collected items and rescued family members.
- Select: Summon Thing after finding him to create a temporary protective shield.
The game is for one player and uses a health meter, lives, an inventory, and extensive backtracking. Its unclear routes and unforgiving traps make it a demanding licensed platformer.
