Overview and Gameplay
Choose Simba, Timon, or Pumbaa and explore side-scrolling stages filled with enemies, hazards, water routes, and bosses. Defeating each stage boss opens the exit, so progress depends on both combat and finding the way forward. The three characters differ in speed, attacks, and movement abilities.
Controls And Mechanics
- Directions move the selected character and control movement in water.
- A jumps.
- B performs a character-specific attack: Simba swipes, Timon throws fruit, and Pumbaa attacks with his tusks.
- Hearts restore health, while stars increase the score. An extra life is awarded at 100,000 points.
- This is a single-player game with no multiplayer mode.
Version Notes
This is an unlicensed Famicom and NES-compatible release. It is also catalogued under the inaccurate ROM-set name The Lion King III: Simon and Pumba. It is separate from the later unlicensed game The Lion King V: Timon & Pumbaa.
