Overview and Gameplay
VS. TKO Boxing brings Data East and Namco’s boxing action to Nintendo VS. System arcade hardware, tied to the Ring King boxing line.
The player enters the ring, throws punches, ducks attacks, manages stamina, and tries to win by knockout, technical knockout, or decision. Matches focus on timing, movement, stamina recovery, and improving the fighter through training points for punch power, stamina, and speed.
Controls And Mechanics
- Boxers move around the ring, punch, duck, and recover energy during the fight.
- Training points can improve punch, stamina, and speed.
- Stamina pressure matters because heavy attacking and taking hits weaken the boxer.
- Arcade settings can adjust difficulty and coin-credit behavior.
- Two players can fight competitively against each other. There is no co-op mode.
Version Notes
This is the Nintendo VS. System arcade version, not the regular NES Ring King cartridge. The title is also commonly styled Vs. T.K.O. Boxing.
