Overview and Gameplay
Baseball in 2020 is played by humans, cyborgs, and robots inside the Cyber Egg, where most outfield walls rebound the ball and only a narrow center-field zone produces home runs. This Japanese Mega Drive edition is the regional release of Super Baseball 2020, an arcade-style Neo Geo conversion rather than a simulation.
Choose from twelve teams, play ordinary innings, and earn prize money for strong batting and fielding. In the one-player league, each team plays a 15-game season before the league winner reaches a championship game. Passwords preserve progress and unused money carries forward.
Controls And Mechanics
- Batting: Move in the box, bunt, swing, check the swing, and manually advance or return runners.
- Pitching and fielding: Adjust pitch speed and curve, attempt pickoffs, move fielders, jump, dive, throw, and tag runners.
- Upgrades: Spend prize money from the Time menu on batting, fielding, or pitching armor and replacement robots.
- Stadium systems: Jump zones, ball-stopping areas, temporary mines, and random Lucky Player bonuses alter play.
- Multiplayer: Two players compete simultaneously in a head-to-head match.

The official Japanese title is 2020年スーパーベースボール, commonly romanized as 2020-Nen Super Baseball. This release carries Electronic Arts Victor branding and Japanese Mega Drive adaptation credits.
