Overview and Gameplay
Heavy metal clashes with pinball as the player battles the forces of Anti-Metal across nine escalating Volume levels. Developed specifically for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive, Crüe Ball: Heavy Metal Pinball combines a three-screen table with ramps, bumpers, drop targets, moving monsters, score multipliers, and licensed Mötley Crüe music.
Each stage requires clearing targets and enemies, reaching the upper playfield, breaking through a guarded wall, and striking the volume control to crank the machine higher. Later stages add timed target resets, tougher defenses, extra-ball opportunities, and a final battle with Mr. Gore.
Controls And Mechanics
- Flippers: Directions operate the left flipper, while C operates the right flipper.
- Launcher: Hold and release A to launch the ball.
- Tilt: B shakes the table to influence the ball.
- Kickstart lanes: Activate the opposite flipper to recover balls entering certain outlanes.
- Multiplayer: Two or more players can compete through alternating hot-seat turns rather than simultaneous play.
Version Notes
The supplied Western release is a shared USA and Europe build. Japan received a separate localized cartridge, while Twisted Flipper was an early prototype title.
