Overview and Gameplay
Build lineups from nearly 700 real players and guide one of 28 clubs through exhibition games, a best-of-seven series, division play, or a full league schedule. R.B.I. Baseball ’93 uses 1992 rosters, includes expansion clubs Colorado and Florida, and gives each team an individual ballpark.
Additional modes include Home Run Derby, defensive practice, custom Dream Teams, and 17 Game Breakers scenarios based on past division champions. Longer competitions use passwords to preserve progress.
Controls And Mechanics
- Use the directional controls to position batters, move pitchers, guide fielders, select bases, and steer pitches.
- Swing, pitch, and throw with the main action button; separate buttons handle running, diving, bunting, jumping, and special pitching actions.
- Pitchers have stamina limits, and series rules prevent the same starter from opening every game.
- Fielding can be manual, computer-assisted, or automatic.
- Two players can compete simultaneously in standard games, series play, or Home Run Derby.
Version Notes
This is the original Sega Genesis installment, not a port from another console. The USA release is the principal known version and uses the same English title.
